Sam is Rose’s principal founder and shareholder. Sam has an extensive real estate background, having grown up in a development and construction family. He has over 30 years of real estate development experience and has directly developed and/or built over 2,500 homes. Sam was initially a co-founder of Great Gulf Homes, leaving to start Rose in 1982. Sam has also been involved with several entrepreneurial ventures in the energy, technology, automotive and food service industries, among others. Sam uses his real estate and entrepreneurial experience to create value for his partners, borrowers and investors. Throughout his career, he has invested in many businesses and takes pride in developing long-term business relationships and successful partnerships. Sam holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.
Martin has over 38 years of experience in the real estate industry. He joined Rose in 1984 and was previously President of Rose during its tenure as a residential home builder and developer. Prior to joining Rose, he served first as Chief Financial Officer and, subsequently, Chief Operating Officer in a substantial builder/developer and drywall contracting company. Martin holds a CA designation and an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business.
Dan has over 22 years of experience in the real estate industry. He joined Rose in 2010 and was previously the Vice President of Development at Cadan Inc., one of Rose’s strategic development partners. Prior to Cadan Inc., he was a Real Estate Manager working throughout Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia for Rogers Wireless Division and subsequently served as General Manager of the New York real estate organizations of two US telecom firms. Dan also acted as Planning Consultant for Bechtel in New Jersey. Dan holds a BA in Urban Development from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Andrew has over 10 years of experience in real estate, finance, and strategy. He joined Rose in 2016. Previously, Andrew was a management consultant with Bain & Company where he worked with the executive teams of Fortune 500 companies to address their most critical issues in strategy, M&A, operations and organization. Prior to Bain, Andrew worked as a consulting engineer on real estate development projects with Sernas Associates where he was responsible for securing development entitlements and managing projects from site selection through to occupancy. Andrew holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.Sc in Mechanical/Automotive engineering from the University of Windsor.
A commercial real estate lawyer by training, Natalie has worked on wide scope of matters including leasing, construction, and development of commercial properties across Canada. Prior to joining Rose in 2019, she was in-house counsel with Restaurant Brands International (RBI), working to grow the Tim Hortons, Burger King and Popeyes brands in Canada and globally. Her work with RBI included supporting her business clients with new restaurant development, all stages of leasing, and the construction of new distribution centres. Prior to RBI, she was in-house counsel with Metrolinx where she was a key member of the team that completed the property acquisition and construction for the UP Express City-Airport rail link. She holds a BA in Political Science and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and a JD from the University of Toronto. She is called to the bar in Ontario and is Chair of the Board of Sojourn House, a refugee resettlement organization in Toronto.
Shanta has over 20 years of accounting and tax experience. She joined Rose in 2007 and was previously with Epstein Enterprises Inc., where she held the positions of Tax Manager, Corporate Controller and Vice President Finance. She also spent 10 years with Deloitte & Touche, KPMG and Nasello Francella & Krishna. Shanta holds a CGA and a Fellowship of the Association of Certified Accountants in England and Wales designation.
Francesco has over 12 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Rose in 2019, Francesco worked for the City of Toronto as the Asset Manager for Union Station. Other past experiences include forecasting the Western Canadian housing construction activities for Dream Unlimited; analyzing the development of shopping centres across the GTA for SmartCentres; acting as master developer for multi-phased mixed-use revitalization projects for Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC); and advising on the acquisition and development of high-rise condominium and rental apartment building projects for Minto. Francesco is a CPA, CMA and holds a B. Comm. with a Major in Finance from Ryerson University.
David joined Rose in 2017. Previously, David was a corporate real estate consultant at Newmark Knight Frank Devencore where he advised major global firms on the strategic repositioning of owned and leasehold assets throughout Canada and the United States. David holds a BA in Urban Development from the University of Western Ontario and is a registered salesperson through the Real Estate Council of Ontario as well as an accredited LEED professional.
DeoGracias has over 10 years of accounting and ERP (IBM AS/400 & BaaN IV) software implementation experience. He joined Rose in 2011 and was previously with Cornerstone Group of Companies, where he held the position of General Accountant, Fundraising and Publishing. He also spent two years with the National Chemical Fertilizer Company in Saudi Arabia as an Accounting Specialist. DeoGracias holds a CPA, and a Fellowship of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant & Association of Canadian and American Filipino Accountant.
Bob has been in the accounting, finance and computer consulting fields for over 31 years. Over the past 22 years, Bob has provided in-house accounting and bookkeeping services to The Rose Corporation and many of it’s associated companies. Over the past 25 years Bob’s company has also provided computer implementation consulting services to large and small companies such as A.G. Simpson, Hayden Inc. in addition to The Rose Corporation.
